Next Forum: Palm Coast City Election Candidate Forum

Thursday, October 13 @ 6:00pm

County Government Services Building
1769 East Moody Blvd, Bldg 2
Bunnell, FL 32110

Initial Questions

  • A recent topic for debate has been the fees for the recreational and sports venues. Also, there have been reports of organizations canceling events due to the cost of city fees. Please discuss your views on the fees for city parks and facilities.

  • The City of Palm Coast has a feral cat problem. Please discuss the issue and possible solutions.

  • How do you envision the city working with the county’s Economic Development Council?

  • There have been published articles on the salaries of senior government employees. What’s your position on these salaries given the current budget situation?

  • What is your position on red-light cameras?

  • What are your budget priorities for the city?

  • How successful do you think the Neighborhood Stabilization program has been? What costs are incurred by the City?

  • There are businesses that operate in Palm Coast and require service employees to be on-call, but city ordinances prohibit parking service vehicles in residential driveways. This discrepancy can result in companies looking outside of Palm Coast for their employees. What do you see as the solution to this discrepancy?

Format

  • The candidates will each get a 5 minute opening statement. They will be asked to give a brief introduction and then discuss their vision/plan for Palm Coast.
  • We will then ask prepared questions to candidates running for a given district. They will have 3 minutes each to answer, followed by a 1 minute rebuttal.
  • We will announce the questions in advance: to the candidates, the public and the media. In other forums we've seen how candidates think on their feet, but the role of elected officials is to deliberate on their decisions, so we are giving them the chance to do that.
  • We will then accept a few questions from the audience. The candidates will have 2 minutes to answer.
